WHAT TO BRING

Your saddle, if you want to.

Your chaps or chinks.

Your spurs.

Your wild rag, bandana, or scarf.

Your hat. Cowboy style hat, of course. Very often a stampede string is needed.

Riding Slicker. No ponchos.

Riding gloves, in Spring and Fall also waterproof ski gloves.

In cold weather our cowboys prefer scotch caps with ear flaps.

Wool is wonderful. It cuts the wind and keeps you warm even when wet. It lines our coats and our vests.

Sweaters are wonderful under a vest. Second hand stores often have a good selection for a reasonable price.

Cowboy boots. Something with a heel for safety. No hiking boots. Here again Second hand stores often have cowboy boots.

Riding pants, or jeans. No shorts.

Shirts with collars and sleeves. We recommend sleeves because of the direct sun and we are not comfortable with a lot of skin. Western styles are quite modest for many good reasons.

Long Underwear in the fall and the spring. Silk is wonderful but many sports stores carry different versions of long johns. Tights or nylons save your legs when underwear is to warm.

Sunscreen, chapstick, sunglasses, aspirin, medicine or other items you might use or need while riding.

Pommel Bags. Something that goes over the saddle horn to put your camera, chapstick, gloves, lunch, water bottles, trail snacks, and various small items in to keep them handy.

Flashlight, flip flops or slippers, small overnight bag, good for a night of camping.

Camera. Extra batteries. Battery charger. Extra memory sticks or film.

We have towels and hand soap. Bring your own shampoo and toothbrush and hand lotion. This is a dry climate with no humidity.

Your own cigarettes. We are a long way from town.

No alcohol, please. It is against Federal Law. We are on the Crow Indian Reservation.

We have NO PHONES. We do have Internet access so you can email. We also have wireless internet access. Laptops work in most places at the ranch headquarter.

Please let us know about personal health problems so we can be aware of how to keep you safe while you are with us. Also, our cook will accommodate most diet needs if we have time to prepare for them.
